10.62 When the BRS ports are configured for Station/Station ports in the DB Programming,
the TEI is configured as follow:
Trunk/Trunk (Trunk-to-Trunk) Ports for BRS Cards
10.63 When the BRS ports are configured for Trunk/Trunk ports in the DB Programming, the
TEI is configured as follow:
NOTE:
Fixed 0 from the Service Point [Local Exchange or ISDN provider] to the End Point (CPE, Cus-
tomer Provided Equipment). Therefore, it may require a change to the TEI setting from Auto-
matic to Fixed 0.
Single Interface-to-Multiple Devices
10.64 Multiple Devices on a Single Interface: (Supported) The Inter-Tel system can have
one or more ISDN circuit connected via a BRS, BRU, or PRI, then the various devices con-
nected to the Inter-Tel system can place Data calls and/or Voice calls on this one ISDN inter-
face or trunk port. The principal application remains the same if the incoming ISDN circuit is
connected to a BRS, BRU, or PRI card. The Inter-Tel system is an ISDN PBX managing the
multiple devices on a single ISDN connection. See
lowing pages for examples of Point-to-Multi-devices Setups.

The TEI is set to Automatic in the system software, and the TEI option does not appear
in the DB Programming screen for the port.
The TEI setting is non-programmable.
The BRS ports only support a single connection to a device or a circuit.
Each B-channel is assigned a TEI number during a call.
The TEI is programmable and the default setting is set to Automatic. The system auto-
matically assigns a TEI once connected to an ISDN provider.
The setting can be changed in the Trunk/Trunk port programming under the TEI set-
tings. The programmable settings for TEI are Fixed 0 through Fixed 63 and Automatic
(the automatic settings are 64 through 126).

Local ISDN providers in Europe support a point-to-point connection, and the TEI uses
