Annotations
Annotations are text labels that you can add to an acquired or saved image.
When you store an annotated frame or clip, the system stores the annotations along
with the image. This topic describes how to work with annotations when you are
analyzing an image.
When placing an annotation, please note the following:
Annotations on 2D or Color Doppler Mode images will be visible during
l
playback—this includes the 2D scout window for M-Mode images
Annotations are not visible during playback for a clip or if exported to
l
AVI format, except for annotations in the 2D scout in M-Mode
When saving an M-Mode image using save frame, any annotations that are
l
visible will be saved with the image—even if it is partially displayed
You must save (or resave) your image after adding, editing or deleting an
l
annotation
Important:
You cannot place a new annotation or edit an annotation's properties
for an image in a patient exam that is transferring or committed to a DICOM server.
Predefined annotations
When placing an annotation on an image, the annotation panel is displayed. The
annotation panel contains predefined groups and labels, an option to show an arrow
once the annotation is placed on the image, and a text box to create and save custom
labels.
See
"Annotations"
on page 132 in system settings for adding custom annotations.
