CHAPTER 11 OTHER FUNCTIONS
B-EP Series
11.15.1 RECOVERY OF BONDING TABLE
This function, which backs up the bonding table (BD address and PIN code) information, is
supported from firmware version V1.3. (The B-EP-GH32 does not support the recovery function.)
If the registered bonding table information cannot be obtained, the printer recovers the
information based on the backed up information.
Before firmware version V1.3, there were cases that the printer cannot re-connect to a host if this
problem occurs. To recover from this situation, it was required to register the bonding table
again with the setting tool. This process has been automated from V1.3.
When this function is activated, the printer will behave as follows.
When the printer power is turned on, a message, "BT Initializing", is displayed on the LCD and a
recovery of the bonding table information is performed.
After the recovery is successfully
completed, "SYSTEM ERROR 19" is displayed on the LCD. After the printer is turned off and
back to on, the printer starts up in the online mode and enables normal operations.
Even when there is not the bonding table information, a recovery is performed, and the printer
becomes connectable to the host.
When the security level for the Bluetooth has been set to link level, an entry of PIN code is
requested by the host. For details, refer to the flowchart.
* A recovery processing takes 30 seconds at the maximum. During a recovery, "BT Initializing"
is displayed on the LCD.
* While "BT Initializing" is displayed, the battery shall not be removed and the printer power shall
not be turned off. Doing so causes the recovery data to be indefinite.
