Radio Board Removal and Installation
Radio boards are electronically bound to the
serial number of the PT and must be ordered
from Segway, pre-programmed for the specific
serial number of the PT that is being serviced;
otherwise, the InfoKey will not start the unit.
To remove radio board:
1. Make sure Segway PT is powered off and
unplugged.
2. Remove the PT battery packs (page 3‐3).
3. Remove console cover (page 9‐4).
4. Remove EMI shield and antenna (page 9‐6).
5. Depending upon the revision, use a 2mm or
2.5mm wrench to remove the four (4) M3 x 6
button head cap screws holding the radio
board to the UIC.

from the UIC. Package the radio board for
return to customer because it cannot be
reused. Place radio board in ESD bag or on
clean ESD work surface.

7. Verify that the serial number of the PT
matches the serial number printed on the
packaging for the replacement radio board.
Retain replacement part packaging to use as
packaging for returning original radio board to
customer (upon customer request).
To install radio board:
1. Make sure Segway PT is powered off and
unplugged with batteries removed.
2. Align radio board connectors with mating
connectors on the UIC. Apply pressure first
at the front of the radio board to seat the
connectors, then gently press board into
place.
Do not force the board into place; it should fit
easily with only light pressure.
3. Insert 4 M3
6 fasteners (20243‐00001). Use a
x
2.5mm wrench to drive each screw and
torque to 0.8‐1.0 N‐m. See Figure 9‐8.
4. Install EMI shield and antenna (page 9‐6).
