About This Guide
Purpose
The purpose of this guide is to provide instructions for servicing the 2
Segway Personal Transporter (Segway PT) models i2, x2, and x2 Turf.
Audience
Chapters 1 through 6 of this manual are written for either customers or Segway trained, certified
service technicians working under agreement with Segway Inc. Chapters 7 through 14 of this
manual are written for only Segway trained, certified service technicians working under
agreement with Segway Inc.
Certification
Becoming a Segway certified technician involves a four‐level certification process. The service
technician may be required to undergo training at each level. Upon satisfactory completion of
this training, the service technician becomes certified to maintain the Segway PT parts and
assemblies according to the following scheme:
