Motor Removal

To remove motor:
1. Make sure Segway PT is powered off and
unplugged.
2. Establish a serviceable power base
(page 7‐1).
3. Remove gearbox on same side of machine as
motor that you want to remove (page 8‐4).
4. Remove pivot base assembly (page 9‐14).
5. Remove chassis cover (page 10‐3).
6. Use small flathead screwdriver and gently
lift tab on connector (see Figure 13‐1) from
back of motor, and then carefully pull on
both connectors to unseat. See Figure 13‐2.

7. Use T‐25 6‐lobe wrench to remove (2) SHCS,
M5 0.8 12, 6‐lobe screws that attach

motor to chassis. See Figure 13‐3.

8. Pull motor straight out of side of chassis.
