1. LeanSteer™ Frame
This chapter describes removal and installation procedures for
the LeanSteer frame on a Gen 2 Segway PT. The LeanSteer
frame pivots at the base to control left/right direction of the PT.
The following warnings apply to the instructions in this
Section 1 regarding the LeanSteer Frame.

LEANSTEER
LeanSteer frame must be properly attached and secured.

Failure to properly attach the LeanSteer frame and/or maintain
the torque on the wedge clamp fastener could result in
machine malfunction and could cause personal injury or
damage to the Segway PT. Using the Segway PT without
properly assembling the LeanSteer frame and/or maintaining
the torque on the wedge clamp fastener could lead to an
unexpected change in steering and could result in serious
injury and/or damage to the Segway PT from loss of control,
collisions, and falls.
Check the tightness of the joint between the LeanSteer frame
•
and the pivot base assembly routinely and every time the
LeanSteer frame is removed and reinstalled (using the method
outlined in the document).
