To install pivot base assembly:
1. Make sure Segway PT is powered off and
unplugged.
2. Install console housing (page 9‐16).
3. With pivot base angled straight up, guide (4)
harness connectors through bottom of base
plate. See Figure 9‐17.
4. Thread (2) SHCS, M6
(20205‐00001) through base plate and chassis
cover into chassis.
5. Inspect harnesses to ensure proper
alignment.
6. Using T‐30 6‐lobe wrench, drive each screw
and torque to 11.0 N‐m.
7. Install EMI filter (page 9‐13).
8. Any PT without ferrite cores must be
retrofitted with ferrites upon reassembly.
One small ferrite core (21270‐00001) is
placed on each BSA harness between chassis
cover and EMI filter. One large ferrite core
(21271‐00001) is placed on B side CU harness
(10‐pin connector) under UIC.
Ferrite cores can physically impede installation of
new UIC. Take special care to correctly place
ferrite cores and route cables to avoid damage
when installing UIC.
9. Install UIC (page 9‐10).
10. Install console cover (page 9‐5).
11. Perform post‐service tests (page A‐1).
