7. Unseat BSA harnesses from plastic
positioning clips.
8. Set aside EMI filter and place in ESD bag or
on clean ESD work surface.
To install EMI Filter:
1. Make sure Segway PT is powered off and
unplugged.
2. Any PT without ferrite cores must be
retrofitted with ferrites upon reassembly.
One small ferrite core (21270‐00001) is
placed on each BSA harness between chassis
cover and EMI filter. One large ferrite core
(21271‐00001) is placed on B side CU
hardness (10‐pin connector) between chassis
cover and UIC.
Ferrite cores can physically impede installation of
new UIC. Take special care to correctly place
ferrite cores and route cables to avoid damage or
pinching when installing UIC.
3. Position EMI filter and connect (2) balance
sensor assembly harness connectors. See
Figure 9‐15.

4. Seat EMI filter in place over locator pin.
Thread (1) SHCS, M6
fastener (20539‐00001) through EMI filter
and base plate into chassis cover.
See Figure 9‐14.
5. Route and connect (2) steering sensor
harnesses around bosses as shown in
Figure 9‐13. Proper routing ensures cables
will not be pinched when you install console
cover. Reinstall retention putty to hold
harnesses in place.
6. Using T‐30 6‐lobe wrench, drive each screw
and torque to 11.0 N‐m.
7. Perform post‐service tests (page A‐1).
