Chassis Cover Removal and Installation
To remove chassis cover:
1. Make sure Segway PT is powered off and
unplugged.
2. Establish a serviceable power base
(page 7‐1).
3. Remove pivot base assembly (page 9‐14).
4. Use T‐27 6‐lobe wrench to remove (12)
screws that attach chassis cover to chassis.
See Figure 10‐1.
DISCARD FASTENERS AFTER REMOVAL! DO NOT
REUSE!
5. Feed harnesses down through holes in
cover.
6. Remove chassis cover.

Front
To install chassis cover:
Make sure motor and BSA harnesses are seated
in notches in chassis and cable router so that
they cannot be pinched when cover is installed.
1. Make sure Segway PT is powered off and
unplugged.
2. To ensure proper installation torque of new
fasteners, completely remove thread lock
compound from power base fastener holes
and mating surfaces and clean so that gasket
contacts aluminum. Use cotton swabs, first
with window cleaner, then with isopropyl
alcohol.
3. Orient cover so that openings for harnesses
are toward rear and warning label is on
right‐hand side.
