6. Place wheel face down on a clean smooth
surface. With inside of wheel facing up, pry
one end of tire iron underneath lip of tire
bead, pulling it up above rim (Figure 4‐8).

7. Reminder: Wear safety glasses.
8. Insert a second tire iron under tire bead
about 6ʺ away from first tire iron and pry
that portion of tire over rim (Figure 4‐9).

9. Pull first tire iron out and reinsert under
bead about 6ʺ away from other tire iron.

Repeat until entire side of tire is lifted over
rim (Figure 4‐10).

10. Push valve stem through rim into tire and
extract tube (Figure 4‐11).

If replacing tire, work outside bead over inside of
wheel to remove tire completely.
