Tire Tube Removal and Installation, i2

To remove tire tube:
1. Make sure Segway PT is powered off and
unplugged.
Wear safety glasses to avoid
eye injury.
Finger or Wear
safety glasses.

2. Remove tire/wheel assembly (page 4‐3).
3. Remove valve stem cap and release air from
tire by pushing down on valve needle.
Maintain downward pressure on valve
needle while squeezing tire to ensure tire is
completely emptied of air. (Figure 4‐5)

The i2 tire is tightly fitted to wheel in a manner
similar to a motorcycle tire mounted to a rim.
4. Using a bar clamp, break tire bead by
positioning clamp jaws against inner and
outer sidewall of tire and tightening clamp.
Continue to break tire bead in this manner,
shifting clamp over 6" each time. (Figure 4‐
6).

Carefully position clamp to avoid puncturing tire.
Insert clamp on tire wall, centering clamp at tire
specification label.

Rim has sharp edge. Use

pinch between wheel and tire.

5. Finish separating tire bead by hand.
