Inspect the ball
joint
boot for tears or
other
damage
by moving
the
ball joint
stud.
It
should
move freely
and
smoothly.
Check
the
pivot
bushings
of
the
lower arm
for
wear
or
damage.
KNUCKLE
Turn
the
inner
race of the bearing
in
the knuckle
with your
finger. The bearing
should
turn
smoothly
and
quietly.
Also
check
that the
bearing ouler
race
fits tightly
in
the
knuckle.
Inspect the
knuckle
for damage
or cracks.
Inspect the
ball joint
boot for tears
or other
damage
by moving the ball joint stud.
It
shou
ld
move freely and smoothly.
