    In addition to the standard set of fonts that is delivered with the LPS, special or customized fonts can be developed by the Xerox Font Center or by Rank Xerox. The base components of the 4635 LPS are the system controller and the printer.

The HCF trays have Paper Level switches which detect the position of the elevator to determine the fullness of the tray. Paper Size switches detect the size of the paper loaded in the trays.

Refer to the section “Optional printer components“ for more information on the optional feeder/stacker modules.

  • Page 31 To prevent monitor burnout on the PC UI, a screen saver feature automatically blanks the screen and flashes a “Xerox 4635” logo when the PC UI desktop is inactive for five minutes. The five minute time limit is a default which can be changed by your service representative.

    SYSTEM OVERVIEW OF THE 4635 LASER PRINTING SYSTEM Bar code device The optional bar code feature allows processing of bar code data streams with the ability to cross-check the system UI, the controller and the printer. This cross-checking ensures that any bar code sheets printed have been accounted for by each component of the system.

    PC UI XEROX 4635 LASER PRINTING SYSTEM OPERATOR GUIDE With the PC UI you perform operator tasks through a dynamic set of windows. Either a mouse or certain keyboard combinations are used to move between windows and select options. The PC UI also allows you to enter commands through a window on the display screen.

    The TEM function also may be used with the optional XPSM software. In this instance, the TEM command transfers control of the 4635 from the PCUI to a remote terminal. Once control has been transfered, the system will no longer respond to the PCUI and control can only be transfered back by entering the command @UI$ at the remote terminal or rebooting the 4635.

    System control tasks Power on the LPS XEROX 4635 LASER PRINTING SYSTEM OPERATOR GUIDE The following sections contain instructions for performing specific system control tasks. Use this task to start the LPS. 1. Press the Local button on the operator control panel, unless otherwise instructed.
