5 VEHICLE OPERATION IN COLD SEASON

SPECIAL FEATURES OF VEHICLE OPERATION
DURING COLD PERIOD OF TIME
In cold season, observe the following require-
ments:
-use service materials recommended by manufac-
turer (see Appendices 2, 3 of this Manual);
- prime the washer tank with ready-made cooling
liquid with low freezing temperature.
During work at sub-zero temperatures, stop
the engine only after pressure regulator has come to
work to discharge condensate accumulated to prevent its
freezing.
If regulator or supply pipes have frozen or if regu-
lator did not come to work at system pressure

, or if air drive is not filled with com-
pressed air and compressor noise is excessive, be sure to
shut down the engine and heat the pressure regulator with
warm water or warm air.
To avoid freezing in a tire hose, inflate the tires
in two steps:
- connect the hose to check outlet valve in parking
brake receiver, inflate tires till maximum possible pres-
sure recorded by pressure regulator;
- connect hose to tire inflation cock, top up tire
pressure to norm.
To prevent the brake shoes freezing on to the
diskprior to vehicle parking, do not fail to dry up the
brake gears with several successive applications of brake.
If the truck is parked for a long time (for in-
stance, for a night), do not use the parking brake system.
To apply brakes in vehicle
with manual gearbox
1. Apply the vehicle parking brake.
2. Engage the low gear.
3. Place chocks under wheels.
4. Release the vehicle parking brake.
5. Shut down the engine.
To apply brakes in vehicle
with automated gearbox
1. Place vehicle on a level horizontal surface to
prevent vehicle rolling off.
2. Apply the vehicle parking brake.
3. Check if «N» lightens on display. If no, engage
«N» by force.
4. Place chocks under wheels.
5. Release the vehicle parking brake.
6. Shut down the engine.

Make sure in safety of the vehicle parking.
