LIFTING JACK

The jack is designed for short-time lifting the ve-
hicle, only, e.g., when changing wheel. It is not for vehi-
cle lifting in order to perform any operation under jacked
up vehicle.
Instruction plate with technical data, instructions
on jack raising-lowering, service materials data are ar-
ranged on a jack body. Jacks from various manufacturers
may be used.
The lifting jack is located in the tool box (see Fig.
Jack transport position).

To remove the jack, proceed as follows:
- undo the nuts 1 and 5;
- rotate the clamping plates 2 and 4;
- take the hydraulic jack 3 out of bracket 6.

With work over, shift the jack to transport posi-
tion. For this:
- place the jack 3 in bracket 6;
- secure the jack with clamping plates 2 and 4,
and drive in the nuts 1 and 2.
In storage, the screw head should be driven in,
working plungers lowered and lock needle should be
driven out.
No leakage of working fluid out of the jack is
permitted.
Prior to lift vehicle using a jack:
1. Apply the vehicle parking brake.
2. Engage the low gear in manual gearbox.
In automatic gearbox, be sure to shift gear to neu-
tral position.
3. Rotate the ignition switch key to position «0» -
all is OFF.
4. Place the chocks, prevent the vehicle rolling-
off.
5. Place the jack perpendicularly on horizontal hard
and level surface. Radial load applied to jack is not tolera-
ble. If weak soil, preliminarily, place firm board or any flat
pad under base of jack.
