Climbing
Short climbs on good roads should be overcome
with speed reserve.
While overcoming sharp and prolonged climbs,
choose the low gears taking into account the road train
load, length and sharpness of climbing. If possible use the
gear that provides moving without additional shifts and
stops.
If for some reasons the truck cannot overcome the
climb, drive down it slowly reversing and try again.
Descending
When coasting downhill, do not disengage the gear
and do not depress the clutch pedal.
To slow down the vehicle (train) when descending,
use the auxiliary brake system and if necessary use the
service brake.
With the auxiliary brake system engaged, do not
release the clutch and do not change gears.
Climbing and descending (for the vehicle equipped
with automated gearbox)
Short climbs on good roads should be overcome
with speed reserve. If for some reasons the truck cannot
overcome the climb, drive down it slowly reversing and
try again.
When climbing and descending, it is suggested to
move in automatic mode. Gearbox itself selects the re-
quired gear appropriate for certain driving speed.
To slow down the truck (train) when descending,
use the auxiliary brake system and if necessary use the
service brake.

RECOMMENDED OPERATION MODES OF ENGINE

1. While moving on long ascending grades and in
mountains, choose the corresponding engine operation
mode at which rpm do not fall less than 1100 min
2. In order to prevent oil ingress from turbo com-
pressors and getting it into engine cylinders and onto
those parts of compressor and turbine where gas flows,
AVOID prolonged idle operation of engine. Otherwise,
piston rings will be coked, gas-flow part of compressor
polluted and gas-flow part of turbine carbon-deposited.
In case of engine urged idle operation (heating, air
pumping into brake system receivers etc.), maintain rota-
tion frequency from 1100 to 1500 min
3. Prior to engine shutdown after operation under
load, it is obligatory to operate 3-5 minutes in idle mode
to prevent overheating of turbo-compressor bearings and
rotor seal assembly coked.
Abrupt engine stop after loaded operation is
STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.
