COOLANT
Coolant is a balanced aqueous solution of anti-
freeze. Presence of antifreeze permits to expand the op-
eration temperature range by decreasing the freezing
temperature and by increasing the coolant boiling point.
Additives in antifreeze protect the engine cooling system
from cavitation corrosion.
The usage of coolants is obligatory in all climate
zones.
For complete information about coolants see sec-
tion «Service materials» Operating manuals for OM
457LA engines.
For Daimler engines use coolants given in the
sheets No.325.3/326.3/325.0/2/326.0/2 «of «Mercedes-
Benz» Specifications for Service Products».
Antifreeze agent grades compliant with sheets
325.3 and 326.3 may not be mixed with antifreeze agent
grades listed in sheets 325.0/2 and 326.0/2.
NEUTRALIZING AGENT
Adblue liquid provides neutralization of nitric oxide
emissions (NOx) in diesel trucks equipped with Selective
Catalytic Reduction system (SCR).
Adblue liquid is an aqueous solution of urea with
solidification temperature of minus 11,5 ºC.
The tank heating system prevents the liquid freez-
ing.
At ambient temperature below minus 5 ºС, we
recommend to prime the tank not more than 90 %.
Attention! Vehicle operation with SCR system
being not primed with neutralizing liquid is prohibit-
ed.
Suggestions on oils and their application in hy-
draulic fuel-transfer systems and platform tilt gears are
presented in Table 1 of this Appendix.
For hydraulic systems with slightly increasing
temperature, choose oils which viscosity is at least
100mm²/sec. at the lowest start temperature. This elimi-
nates slow operation, cavitation and adverse events.
For extremely cold climate conditions with tem-
peratures below minus 30°С use hydraulic fluids with
high viscosity index(aircraft fluids with the viscosity in-
dex > 250). If the the operating temperature is not
reached, you need to heat the oil before use.
List of oils applied for operation of HYVA plat-
form tilt gear is presented in Table 2 of this Appendix.
