OPERATION OF BOLSTER TRUCK TRACTOR BEING
A PART OF A ROAD TRAIN
When bolster tractor is a part of a train with in-
stalled three-component wings of rear bogie, the upper
part of wings should be dismantled.
For dismantling it is necessary to (see Fig. Dis-
mantling of the upper part of rear three-component
wings):
- unfasten the clamps 3;
- slacken the nuts 5;
- remove the upper part of rear wings;
- tighten the nuts 5.

Place the dismantled upper parts of wings into the
semi-trailer.
To install the upper part of the rear wings:
- slacken the nuts 5;
- install the upper part of rear wings;
- tighten the nuts5, fasten the clamps 3.

Coupling of tractor with semi-trailer
1. Place the vehicle on a level and hard surface.
2. Place chocks (Block stops) under wheels of
semi-trailer.
3. Apply the parking brake system to stop the
semi-trailer.
4. Couple the tractor with trailer pursuant to re-
quirements of Operation manual of the fifth wheel manu-
facturer.
5. During operation of hydroficated tractor with
hydroficated semi-trailer:
- remove plugs from locking means of oil ducts and
connect the locking means of tractor and trailer with each
other with a cap nut;
- then connect the tractor plug with the plug of
semi-trailer.
6. Connect automatic heads of semi-trailer brake
system pneumatic drive hoses with corresponding heads
of truck pneumatic system 1, 2 (see Fig. Coupling heads
and sockets for connection of the tractor with the semi-
trailer).
7. Using the spiral cable, connect the socket 3 with
corresponding socket of semi-trailer. Electric cable for
connection to semi-trailer is supplied with truck.
8. Connect the EBS system (terminal 4). EBS elec-
tric cable for connection to trailer is supplied with truck.
9. Release the semi-trailer parking brake system.
10. Remove the chocks (block stops).
