3.3.2 Changing gears

CAUTION
• Keep the clutch pedal always completely depressed during
the gear shifting in order to avoid damages to the trans-
mission synchronizers.
• When shifting up or down, do not shift more than max. two
full gear steps (e.g. from 4L to 6L). Shifting gears by more
than two gear steps leads to wear of the transmission
synchronizers.
• To prevent transmission and engine damage, do not shift
to the next lower gear before you have decelerated and
reached the maximum speed of the intended gear.
• When operating the clutch-dependent PTO, the gears
shall not be changed (this applies also to a splitter group
change) since this leads to wear of the transmission
synchronizers. If you have to change gears to adapt the
vehicle speed, switch off the PTO.

• Move shift lever smoothly and without force. This is
particularly important when the transmission oil is still cold.
• Move the shift lever with your hand open, as recommended
in Fig. 7a.
• When selecting a gear, hold the shift lever against the
pressure point until the synchronizing process is completed
and the gear has actually engaged.
