3 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF
VEHICLE SYSTEMS AND MECHANISMS

ENGINE

Vehicle is equipped with engine Mercedes-Benz
OM457LA. Operation manual for Mercedes-Benz engine
is supplied with vehicle.

TRANSMISSION

Clutch
Clutchis single-plate, diaphragm, pull-type model
MFZ 430 «SACHS».
Clutch control actuator is hydraulic with air-
hydraulic booster «WABCO».
Gearbox
In accord with configuration, vehicles are
equipped with:
- mechanical gear boxes, models ZF 16S1820 ТО,
ZF 16S2220 ТD, ZF 16S2221 ТD (with intarder);
- mechanical gear boxes with automated control
ZF 12AS 2130 TD, ZF 12AS 2131 TD (with intarder).

Intarder operation manual see in Appendix «Op-

Axle «DAIMLER» (HL6) is used on the vehicle.
Provision is made on the vehicle for installation of driv-
ing axle with inter-wheel differential interlock mecha-
nism.

FRAME AND FIFTH-WHEEL COUPLING

Frame is provided with front under-run protection
device.
In frame front part there's a towing crossbar with
two threaded ports for installation of towing yokes.
The fifth-wheel coupling is installed on a vehicle
frame, it provides coupling and uncoupling of tractor and
semi-trailer. Installation of the fifth-wheel coupling
«SAF Holland», «JOST» or «ORLANDI» is possible.
Operation manual for the fifth-wheel coupling is sup-
plied with vehicle.
Certain vehicle configurations are equipped with
hydraulic equipment for hydroficated tank semitrailer,
designed for transportation of dangerous cargo (oil prod-
ucts).
