AIR FILTER REPLACEMENT

The cab should be raised to provide access to the
latches in the air filter cover when performing maintenance
and replacing filter elements.
To replace the main filter element
1. Undo the latch of air filter cover, remove the
cover (see Fig. Air filter).

A nipple valve is arranged in bottom part of cover
for dust and water discharge, dust and water may ingress
with air coming. Valve should be secured by clip to air
filter cover. Inspect the valve for integrity, visually.
2. Take the main filter element 2 out of filter body
(see Fig. To replace the main filter element).
3. Insert the new main filter element as far as it
can go.
4. Place cover on air filter body. The nipple valve,
in this case, should be mounted vertically downwards.
5. Fasten the latches on air filter cover.

To change safety element
After triple change of main filter element, or, if
air filter clogging pilot lamp comes ON in spite of small
mileage after main filter element change, be sure to
change the safety element.
When replacing safety element, avoid ingress of con-
taminated air into engine intake path, e.g. if adverse weath-
er conditions (wind blowing).
Be sure to use filter elements from manufactures
possessing official approval of KAMAZ PTC for delivery.
