8. MALFUNCTION/ MAINTENANCE

8.1 MALFUNCTION RESPONSE ACTIONS

The heater does not start after switching on:
- switch the heater off and on.
If after this the heater does not start again, check:
- Is there fuel in fuel tank?
- Are fuses in good order?
- Are connection wires, disconnect points in good
order?
- Is there any interference in hot air supply ducts,
air supply ducts to combustion chamber or exhaust gas
outlet ducts?

8.2 Malfunction repair

If the heater does not start and after checking ac-
cording to point 8.1 or if another fault is identified, con-
tact your warranty service center.
Please note!
You have to take into account that warranty
maintenance is not provided, if changes in design of the
heater have been made by an unauthorized party or if
parts of third-party manufacturers are built in the device.

8.3 Maintenance instructions

Switch on the heater also in warm season approx-
imately once a month for 10 minutes.
Before starting continuous operation in cold sea-
son, perform trial start. If strong smoke persists over a
protracted period or if burning is accompanied by unusu-
al noise or distinct smell of fuel or overheated electrical /
electronic parts, switch off the heater and stop operation
by removing the fuse.
Re-commissioning is permitted only after inspec-
tion by specially trained heater technicians from
Eberspächer.
Hot air ducts, air supply ducts to combustion
chamber and exhaust gas outlet ducts should be checked,
and if necessary cleaned after a long period of inactivity.
