Trouble
Storage batteries are discharged.
Alternator
operates
with
noise.
Starter fails to operate (headlamps are
not dimmed with starter engagement).
Crankshaft is not rotated by starter
(traction relay comes to operation).
Bulb does not glow.
When turned on, horn emits no sound.

TROUBLE-SHOOTING GUIDE FOR ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT

Probable cause
Alternator drive belts are slackened.

Pulley fastening is loosened.
Break or absence of contact in starter
power supply circuit.
Storage battery is discharged.
Poor contact between starter body and
truck frame.
Motor oil used does not correspond to
season in cold.
Shaking (braking of filament as a result
of external influence) or filament failure.
Break in power supply circuit:
- fuse has come into action;
- no contact in plug-and-socket connec-
tions.
Break of conductor.
No contact in power circuit.
Fuses are blown or circuit breakers come
into action due to short-circuit in power
supply.
Adjust the belt tension. Address the
service center.
Tighten up the pulley.
Restore the contact.
Charge/ replace the battery.
Address the service center.
Ensure good contact.
Address the service center.
Change the motor oil.
Change the bulb.
To eliminate short-circuit:
- change the fuses;
- restore the contact.
Address the service center.
Eliminate the break.
Restore the contact.
Eliminate the short-circuit.
Address the service center.
