ENGINE START FROM EXTERNAL POWER SOURCE

You may use external power sources to start en-
gine in vehicle with partially or completely discharged
storage batteries.
The following devices may be used as external
power source:
- charged storage batteries with voltage 24 V and
suggested capacity 190 А·h;
- moving charging station (batteries with network
unit).
Prior charging the storage batteries, check if sta-
tion has been disconnected from mains, otherwise, ex-
cessive charging voltage may damage vehicle electronic
control systems.
External power sources should possess the fol-
lowing characteristics:
- rated voltage from 24 to 30 V;
- the recommended starting current is more than
1000 A. If power source has weaker starting current,
then, prior to starting, wait for some 10-15 minutes to
charge regular storage batteries.
If engine start from external power source has
failed, be sure to charge the batteries completely or re-
place them by new ones.
Attention!
Start engine from external power source with in-
stalled and connected regular storage batteries in a ve-
hicle.
Use starting connection cables protected from
twisting, with cross section 35 mm
isolated pole terminals.
At ambient temperature below minus 10 ºС, the
discharged storage battery can freeze, so, before starting
the engine, the frozen storage batteries must be thawed
out.
