20. Prior to performance of electric welding ac-
tivities the following operations are necessary to be
fulfilled on the vehicle:
- the storage batteries should be disconnected by
means of a remote-control switch;
- disconnect terminals from battery leads;
- remove the wires from all outlets of alternator
and disconnect the connector (if any);
- disconnect all connectors from all ECUs installed
on the vehicle: vehicle engine, brake system (ABS, EBS),
exhaust gas aftertreatment system, air suspension, gear
box, electric equipment and others (if any);
- when welding on chassis, disconnect the com-
municating connectors going into cab. In such a case dis-
connection of connectors of electronic units located in a
cab is not required;
- the welder minus terminal should be connected in
immediate proximity to the weld area;
- when welding on a cab, connect the "ground"
wire to the cab, only, while welding on a vehicle chassis –
to the chassis, only.
It is prohibited to perform welding on conditioner
components (if any) or in proximity to it, since condi-
tioner heating may cause it failure or explosion.
It is forbidden to connect "ground" conductors to
any sensors, items of wiring or to engine electronic con-
trol module arranged on engine.
It is strictly forbidden to lay out a welder cable in
parallel to the vehicle wiring harness.
It is not suggested to perform welding operations
on engine or components mounted on engine.
21. Do not disassemble brake chamber spring en-
ergy accumulators on the vehicle. It should be carried out
in a workshop with the usage of special accessories.
22. During operation of bolster traction truck
equipped with a low bolster (the bolster installation height
is 1100 mm or less) and air suspension, being a part of the
train the angles of semi-trailer longitudinal tilt in relation
to traction truck are to be no more than those specified in
Fig. Angles of train flexibility.
It is possible with the following train driving con-
ditions fulfilled:
- while descending onto the road horizontal section
and while ascending from the horizontal section, the road
slope is to be no more than 8%;
- while ascending onto the road horizontal section
and while descending from the horizontal section, the
road slope is to be no more than 9 %.
