DRIVING THE VEHICLE

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

1. All defects discovered during vehicle inspection
should be eliminated.
2. At starting the engine, observe the following
safety precautions: first of all, make sure that the parking
brake system is engaged, while the gearshift lever is in
neutral position, and in the gear box with automatic con-
trol the neutral is engaged.
3. Do not warm up the engine in closed premises
with poor ventilation.
4. Keep the engine and pre-starting heater clean
and in good working order; oil-stained engine crankcase
and fuel leak may cause fire.
5. Remember, that diesel fuel and its vapors are
toxic and flammable. Observe safety measures and fire
safety regulations.
Avoid diesel fuel getting onto skin and cloth, or
diesel fuel vapors into respiratory passages.
6. In case of diesel fuel inflammation, flame must
be covered with soil, sand; felt or canvas cloth, use the
fire extinguisher. It is strictly forbidden to flood the fir-
ing fuel with water.
7. Do not grease or clean the engine while it
works.
8. It is strictly forbidden to perform any works in
the zone of cooling system fan while engine works.
9. Do not open the expansion tank cap of an over-
heated engine, let the engine cool down.
10. Remember, that cooling liquids used in engine
cooling system and liquids used in clutch drive are toxic
and should be handled with adequate care.
11. Before motion start make sure that the cab is
safely locked.
12. When coasting downhill, do not disengage the
gear in the gearbox and, for mechanical gear box, do not
depress the clutch pedal.
13. Prevent vehicle driving if the rear suspension
torque rods are loose in fastening.
14. Prevent vehicle usage if total play in steering
control is more than 25º.
15. Operation with untight input path leads to
premature engine fail. Regularly check rubber branch
pipes and air pipes for integrity, also check reliability of
connections and eliminate the path leakage.
16. Do not use the semitrailer with disconnected or
faulty brake and electric systems.
17. Do not drive the vehicle with cargo unfastened.
18. Do not start motion while people are between
truck and semitrailer.
19. It is forbidden to change vehicle wheels if ve-
hicle is jacked up only, without trestles.
