SAFETY REQUIREMENTS DURING OPERATION OF
VEHICLE WITH ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS
1. Be sure to disconnect the storage battery while
repairing or replacing the items of vehicle electronic sys-
tems.
2. It is strictly forbidden to connect the electric
connectors to control module prior the process of system
installation is over.
3. It is strictly forbidden to supply the voltage di-
rectly onto the control module terminals.
4. Voltage measurements in the system should be
carried out only by appropriate measurement devices! In-
put impedance of measurement device is to be not less
than 10 MOm.
5. The connectors of electronic control module are
to be disconnected and connected only while the starter-
and-instrumentation key is in position «0».
6. It is forbidden to use the vehicle while the cir-
cuit resistance between the accumulator battery «minus»
and the electronic module connector is more than 3 Оm.
7. During painting, the electronic components of
the system may be subject to heating in a drying chamber
up to 95 °С for a short period of time (up to 10 minutes),
while at temperature of no more than 85 °С – up to
2 hours. With this, be sure to disconnect the storage bat-
teries.
8. Be sure to change the fuses, pilot lamps and dis-
connect/ connect the cables and other commutation devic-
es only with power (storage battery) disconnected.
To use the fuse with the same rating instead of that
to be replaced, strictly.
9. The short-circuiting of electronic control module
leads onto the «ground» or positive terminal of power
source is inadmissible.
10. The opening – closing of control module con-
nector while the power source is ON is intolerable.
11. It is prohibited to touch the outlets of ECU by
hands to avoid deformation of outlets and damage of ECU
elements by electrostatic discharge.
1. For the period of painting in the electrostatic
field the connections of storage batteries to engine control
module are to be removed. Prior to vehicle painting dis-
connect the positive as well as the negative lead from the
storage battery.
2. When disconnecting the vehicle storage battery,
be sure to disconnect the positive lead at first.
3. Prior to painting, all electrically mateable con-
nectors are to be connected. Non-connected connectors
are to be masked for the period of painting.
4. For the period of painting mask the information
plate on the engine control module. When painting is over
remove all the masking materials.
