Venting the transmission

The transmission oil heats up during driving. This results in the
formation of excess pressure which is continuously reduced via
a bleed valve.
NOTE
Check venting system during each vehicle inspection.

4.7.1 Hose breather

Vehicles like, for instance, milk tankers, concrete mixers, etc.
have to be cleaned frequently due to their application. For
this reason, these vehicles should be equipped with a hose
breather.
• The hose must be routed without any kinks or loops.
• The end of the hose must terminate in a dry area, e.g. in
the engine compartment or in a chassis cavity.
• Do not direct pressurized water directly at the end of the
hose.
