Procedure A-15: Removing the SFP modules

Overview

The procedures described below provide removal instructions for the following SFP

types:

• MSA latch (type 1)

• MSA latch (type 2)

• Bail latch "bottom up" (= type 1)

• Bail latch "top down" (= type 2).

Safety

Hold SFPs only at the edges. Always observe the ESD instructions (cf.

Proceed as follows to remove this type of SFP:

Put the fibers away from the transceiver.

Slide the bar back by using a screwdriver (see figure below).

Result:

moved a bit out of its latch.

Grep the SFP transceiver with your fingers and pull it out.
