Procedure A-12: Switching off an NE
Overview
In order to avoid damage to the E database stored on the CompactFlash
great importance to follow a special procedure for switching off an E.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to switch off an E:

IF ...
one CTL unit is plugged,
two CTL units are plugged,

2 Open the latches of the active CTL unit. Do not remove the CTL from its slot at that time.
Result:

Wait until the green "ACTIVE" LED has stopped flashing (about five seconds).

4 Remove the CTL from its slot.

Swich the power off.
