The enhanced mode of SA/ SA alarm classification for S CP/UPSR rings means
that LOS or LOF alarms will be reported as non-service-affecting ( SA), provided
that all contained tributary signals can be restored by protection switches on path
layer in the local E.

In the Fault Management group box, and by means of the Port Mode Timer spin box,

specify the delay for the transition of the port monitoring mode from "Auto" to
"Monitored".
Possible values are:
• 0 (default setting): no timer will be started, the transition takes place immediately.
• 1 ... 480 minutes (in steps of 1 minute).
If the signal is interrupted during the specified timer period, then no transition from
"Auto" to "Monitored" will take place, and the timer will be stopped. The timer will be
restarted once a transition from "no input signal present" to "input signal applied" is
detected again. Thus, prior to the transition of the port monitoring mode from "Auto" to
"Monitored", a signal must be present for the whole timer period.
