Intra-building electrical interfaces
Safety warning
The electrical intra-building ports of 1675 LambdaUnite MSS system are suitable for
connection to intra-building or unexposed wiring or cabling only. The intra-building
ports of the equipment or subassembly must not be metallically connected to interfaces
which connect to the outside plant (OSP) or its wiring.
These interfaces are designed for use as intra-building interfaces only and require
isolation from the exposed OSP cabling. The addition of primary protectors is not
sufficient protection in order to connect these interfaces metallically to OSP wiring.
This warning applies to the following interfaces:
• 155-Mbit/s intra-office interface for electrical STM-1 signals (EP155)
• 51-Mbit/s intra-office interface for electrical EC1 signals (EP51/EL36)
• 45-Mbit/s intra-office interface for electrical DS3 signals (EP51/EL36)
• DS3 test access interface (TMUX2G5/1)
