The Z-Max Power Module is a self-contained power source designed to be
conveniently attached to the side of the GPS Receiver Module. The Max-Run Power
Module can power the receiver for over 13 hours, so only one Power Module may be
needed for a full day of data collection. Power Modules must be charged before being
used in the field.
The Power Module does not require any cables. It simply connects to the right-hand
side of the GPS Receiver Module. To connect the Power Module to the GPS Receiver
Module, insert the small ledge of the Power Module into the rear of the GPS Receiver
Module housing first as shown in Figure 3.1. This will correctly align the module.
Using the ledge like a hinge, swing the module closed until the latch on the Power
Module clicks into place.

If the Z-Max system is to collect data unattended for a period of time exceeding the
capability of the Power Module, an external power source can be used. External
power is applied to the Z-Max GPS Receiver Module by connecting the power source
with a cable (Figure 3.2) to the external power port located on the rear panel of the
GPS Receiver Module. The power port is a sealed 3-pin connector marked 'Power'.
