Handheld Computer - GPS Receiver

The base station can be configured using either a handheld computer running Field
Application software or via the front panel display. The FAST Terminal handheld
computer can interface with the Z-Max system without cables using Bluetooth
wireless enabled devices. A Bluetooth enabled handheld can wirelessly communicate
with the receiver up to 10 meters away. The Z-Max can also use a serial cable to
communicate with other devices such as handheld computers and a PC. Running on
the FAST Terminal is specialized software for field surveying called, FAST Survey.
FAST Survey has been designed by Thales Navigation specifically for use with Z-Max
RTK systems. The standard Z-Max GPS Receiver Module is equipped with an
internal Bluetooth module that is on any time the receiver is powered. No further
configuration is necessary.

Fully Connected RTK Base System

Depending upon the data link used, a fully connected Z-Max Base receiver will have
as few as zero and as many as two cable connections.
Cellular RTK Base
The Z-Max RTK base system is practically self-contained and does not use any
external cables. Simply install the Cellular Communication Module, as shown in
Figure 3.14.
