7. Dial the base modem. From the Front Panel User Interface, perform the DIAL
function from the COM OPTN/GSM Rover submenu.
8. Verify that the GSM state is ONLINE. From the Front Panel User Interface,
check the STATE status in the COM OPTN/GSM Rover submenu

Verify Function

Perform the following observations to determine if the rover system is functioning
properly.
Determine if the rover receiver is tracking satellites. This can be
accomplished by either using the Power/SV LED on the front panel of the
receiver, or by using the Field Application software
Determine if the data link is receiving data, as indicated by the
COMMUNICATION LED on the front panel of the receiver (the second LED
from the left). This LED should flash green every time the rover receives a
packet of good quality data.
The system is now functioning as an RTK rover and is ready to perform an RTK
survey. With the backpack rover configuration, the GPS receiver, data link, and
optional external power source remain in the backpack. Figure 4.6 shows the
backpack rover system fully configured and ready to survey.
