NOTE: After the receiver is powered on, the battery information is analyzed for 60 seconds before it
is reported to the front panel display. During this initialization period the time remaining will report
0 minutes.
If the SV/Power LED or the Data Log LED does not behave as expected, check
the following:
If the SV/Power LED is not blinking at all, verify that Power Module is
charged and is securely connected to the GPS Receiver Module.
If the SV/Power LED s blinking red every 1-2 seconds but not blinking
green even after several minutes, verify that the GPS Antenna Module is
securely connected, and that the antenna has a clear view to the sky.
If the Data Log LED is not blinking green every 20 seconds, verify that the
SD Memory Card is correctly installed, and is not full.
Check the front panel display for any warning messages. Warning
messages are described in
Receiver Position
To check that the receiver is computing a position:
1. If the front panel LED display is in sleep mode (nothing is displayed) press
any of the display control buttons.
2. Press the up arrow button (
visible on the Display.
3. Press the Enter button (

6. Press the up arrow button (
LAT:N/S ** ** **.***** LON: E/W *** ** **.***** ALT: ***.*** .
7. This position is the current computed position of the Z-Max in degrees/
minutes/seconds of latitude and longitude, and the height above the
ellipsoid in meters. Verify that this position is close to your current position.
8. Press the Cancel button (K) twice to return to the top level of the menu
tree.
Step 9: Setting and Saving Receiver Parameters (optional)
The receiver has a number of user parameters that can be changed. Many of
these parameters are available via the Front Panel User Interface, while
others are only available via the serial port. User parameters affect data
recording, position computation, file management, and receiver configuration,
