GPS Module. The V-Module should be connected to the GPS Receiver Module
whenever the receiver might be exposed to dust or moisture.

Mounting Accessories

When using the Z-Max System to perform post-process surveys, various accessories
are required to mount the receiver to the tripod, the rover survey post or the backpack.
Each of these accessories and their purpose are described in this section. How they
fit into the equipment set up will be covered in Chapter 3 - Connecting System
Hardware and Chapter 4 - Survey Preparation and Execution.
HI Measurement Plate
An accurate measurement of the height of the antenna above the survey mark is
very important. However, when the Z-Max System is attached to a tripod there is
not enough clearance to measure the antenna height from the survey mark to the
GPS antenna. The HI Measurement Plate (Figure 2.5) is used to provide a
convenient location on the Z-Max System where the slant height of the antenna
above the mark can be consistently and accurately measured. It attaches to the
Z-Max System between the bottom of the GPS Receiver Module and the tribrach.
The HI Measurement Plate is only used when the Z-Max System is either a static
receiver or a kinematic base station.
