to the survey pole. In this configuration, all of the components are on the
survey pole, and the system can be moved easily from point to point.
Backpack-Mounted: The Backpack-Mounted configuration for post-
processed data collection (Figure 3.7) requires a cable between the pole and
the backpack. The GPS Receiver Module, Power Module, and V-Module are
attached in a backpack with a cable. A Range Pole RF Adapter and a Pole
Adapter attach to the top of the survey pole. The GPS Antenna Module is
attached to the top of the survey pole assembly. The GPS signal is passed
from the survey pole assembly to the GPS Receiver Module with a cable. The
cable is attached to the Range Pole RF Adapter to the Max-RF Adapter on
the top of the GPS Receiver Module.
If you are collecting data using a backpack mounted system without a range
pole, modify the above hardware connectivity in the following ways:
1. Attach the GPS Antenna Module to the Pole Adapter.
2. Attach the GPS antenna and Pole Adapter assembly to the GPS
Receiver Module.
