Module, the Communication Module and the Power Module are mounted in a
backpack. To provide the capability for accurate positioning, the GPS and UHF
Antenna Modules are mounted on a survey pole and are connected by the cables to
the GPS Receiver Module in the backpack. The cable connectors are located on the
Range Pole RF Adapter on the survey pole and on the Max-RF adapter attached to
the top of the GPS Receiver Module.

GPS Receiver - Communication Module

The Communication Module connection is identical to the base and pole-mounted
systems. The Communication Module connects to the right-hand side of the GPS
Receiver Module. To connect the module, align the module and the housing and
insert the small ledge of the module into the rear of the GPS Receiver Module
housing as shown in Figure 3.25. Swing the module closed until the latch on the
module clicks into place. Make sure that the module is well seated, and the latch
is completely closed.

The Communication Module is now installed and ready to be configured. The Z-
Max will automatically detect which type of Communication Module is present.

GPS Receiver - Receiver Power System

Under most operational conditions, the rover system will be powered solely by the
Power Module. Make sure the Power Module is fully charged before leaving for
the field.
