Downloading the Data

During survey operations data is stored in either the SD memory card in the Z-Max or
in the memory of the handheld computer. Downloading data involves the transfer of
this data to the PC for subsequent processing. During the downloading process, the
session files are decoded and converted into the individual data files (B-file, E-files,
etc) and stored onto the desired directory of the PC. One set of data files is created
per session. The files are named using the file naming convention described below.

Downloading the SD Memory Card Data

There are several ways to download data from the SD card to the PC for processing.
The most convenient methods are to download data directly from the SD card or
download data via the USB port. Both processes will use the Download utility of the
GNSS Studio software download files.
Downloading Directly from the SD Memory Card
Downloading directly from the SD memory card is the fastest way to download
data, since the data does not need to be transferred from the receiver to the PC.
To use this method, an SD card reader must be connected to the PC.
To download data directly from the SD card:
1. Power off the receiver using the Power key on the Front Panel.
2. Manually move the SD card from the SD card slot in the receiver to the SD
card reader in the PC.
3. From the PC, run GNSS Studio software.
4. If a project has not already been created, create a project. This project should
be open.
5. From the Project menu, select 'Download Data from External Device'.
