Loading a new substrate in the secondary tray

Load a substrate in the secondary tray after you have loaded a substrate in the main tray.

On the control panel, click Standby. The press changes to the Standby state.
On the feed control pad, press the Elevator Down button to lower the paper tray (see
Figure 11-15). Release the Elevator Down button to stop the elevator.
Turn the stack centering knob counterclockwise to allow more space between the side
guides.

Raise the paper guide frame and the trailing edge blower bar.
Pick up a stack of sheets in both hands. Twist and fan the stack to separate and air
the sheets.
Place the stack carefully on the tray. Align the edges until the entire stack is straight.
Push the stack forward against the leading edge guides.
Align the stack horizontally and vertically.
Place the stack exactly in the middle of the tray between the side guides. The
distance from either the wall, rear, or front to the sheet margin must be equal.
If necessary, fan the stack again.
On the control panel, click Standby. The press changes to the Standby state.
On the secondary tray feed control pad, press the Elevator Down button to lower the
paper tray (see Figure 11-15). Release the Elevator Down button to stop the
elevator.
