Configuring Various Codec Attributes

The following codec attribute settings can be configured in the General Media Settings
page:
AMR coder:
'Payload Format': Defines the AMR payload format type.
G.729EV coder:
'G729EV local MBS': Defines the maximum bit rate (in kilobits per second - Kbps)
that can be used by the G.729EV coder for a specific channel.
'G729EV Maximum Bit Rate': Defines the maximum generation bit rate for all
participants in a session using G.729EV coder.
'G729EV receive MBS': Defines the value of the MBS field of the sent G.729EV
frames.
Microsoft RTAudio (RTA) coder:
'Microsoft RTA Bit Rate': Defines the transmit (Tx) bit rate of the Microsoft RTA
NB at clock rate 8 kHz.
'Microsoft RTA Forward Error Correction': Enables Forward Error Correction
(FEC) for the Microsoft RTA narrowband coder (MS RTA NB).
Speex coder:
'Speex NB Bit Rate': Defines the transmit (Tx) bit rate of the Speex narrowband
codec at clock rate 8 kHz sampling rate
'Speex WB Bit Rate': Defines the transmit (Tx) bit rate of the Speex wideband
codec at clock rate 16 kHz sampling rate

To configure codec attributes:
1.
Open the General Media Settings page (Configuration tab > VoIP menu > Media >
General Media Settings).
2.
Configure the parameters as required, and then click click Submit.
3.
To save the changes to flash memory, see ''Saving Configuration'' on page 580.
