To connect the oil-free roughing pump:
1. Locate the pump in an area where the ambient temperature is 12 to
40 ºC (54 to 104 ºF).
2. Install the pump within ten degrees of horizontal.
3. To ensure proper ventilation, install the pump observing the minimum
clearances shown in the following figure:

4. Place the pump on the floor, within 1 m (3 feet 3 inches) of the

5. Using an NW40 center ring, attach the flanged end of the vacuum hose
to the roughing pump inlet flange, and then secure the connection with
an NW40 clamp, tightening it with the 7-mm nut driver.
