Miscellaneous Parameters
GK Identifier – This is the name of the Gatekeeper. Terminals identify the Gatekeeper by
this name during the discovery process. The Gatekeeper only responds to discovery requests
that contain either its identifier or no identifier. The default name is RVGK.
Discover Multicast – Use this to discover the Gatekeeper by multicasting. Enter the IP
address and port of the multicast channel (defaults are displayed).
Advanced Settings – Opens the Advanced Settings screen that consists of three parameters.

!" Default Distance – This is the logical distance the Gatekeeper is allowed to route out
of zone call requests from dynamically registered endpoints. The value set for this
parameter is compared against the Neighbor Distance of the destination endpoint
zone. If the Default Distance is the same as or larger than the Neighbor Distance the
call is completed. For more information, see "Neighbor Gatekeepers" in Chapter 2,
"Overview." Valid values are between 0 and 255.
!" Multicast Distance – This is a logical distance determining how far outside the zone
the Gatekeeper can route a call using multicast. This parameter is not relevant when
calling through the Gateway, as the Gateway does not support multicast. Valid values
are between 0 and 255.
!" Unresponsive Timeout – This value determines how long the Gatekeeper waits for an
endpoint response following a Gatekeeper status inquiry to that endpoint. The
Gatekeeper makes four status inquiry attempts before deciding that the endpoint is no
longer available. The Gatekeeper unregisters the endpoint from Online status, and the
endpoint is unable to receive calls.
