Basic Configuration
Setting Miscellaneous WAN Parameters

!" Enable or disable Gateway channel bonding and set the maximum call bandwidth.
!" Set the incoming default bandwidth (only if the Gateway's WAN module is V.35 and
the Gateway is defined as DCE).
Figure 24a – Miscellaneous WAN Parameters
The Miscellaneous WAN Parameters screen includes the following parameters:
Enable Bonding – allows you to disable or enable Gateway channel bonding. Bonding is
enabled by default. If you disable this parameter, you disable the Gateway's internal inverse
multiplexor (IMUX) functionality and no bonded high bandwidth calls are accepted. This
means the Gateway can handle more calls of a lower quality.
Max. Call Bandwidth – allows you to set the maximum bandwidth allowed for bonded
call. The following bandwidths are available:
!" 128 Kbps (2 x 64 Kbps channels).
!" 256 Kbps (4 x 64 Kbps channels).
!" 384 Kbps (6 x 64 Kbps channels).
Incoming Default Bandwidth – automatically enabled if the Gateway's WAN module is
V.35 and the Gateway is defined as DCE. Select the default bandwidth for incoming calls;
the default is 384 Kbps. Options are 2 x 64, 128, 256, 384 or 768 Kbps (2 x 56, 112, 224,
336 or 672 Kbps for restricted calls).
