Troubleshooting the L2W-323 Gateway
running. The Gatekeeper does not identify that these terminals are disconnected from the
LAN and tries to forward calls to them. A call forwarded to such a terminal is disconnected.
If none of the online endpoints registered to the Gatekeeper with phone numbers assigned to
the BRI line to which the Gateway is connected, and one of the phone numbers is dialed, the
call is disconnected.
#"
To verify that the MSN line is in order
1. Disconnect the ISDN cable assigned the MSN number from the Gateway BRI port or
from the PBX.
2. Connect the ISDN cable you disconnected to a normal ISDN phone.
3. Dial the MSN number from another phone. If the phone connected to the MSN line
rings, the MSN line is in order. If the phone does not ring, the MSN line is out of
order. Report this malfunction to your Central Office.
The TCS4 dialing method is enabled but the call is not transferred to the
requested terminal
Make sure that
!" An endpoint on the LAN registered to the Gatekeeper with the TCS4 extension dialed.
!" The requested endpoint is registered and online.
!" The destination gateway supports TCS4.
#"
To verify that endpoints on the LAN are registered to the Gatekeeper with the TCS4
extension dialed
1. Run the OnLAN Configure 323 configuration software.
2. Open the Gatekeeper Zone Definition Table.
3. Verify the phone numbers of the registered and online terminals match the dialed
TCS4 extension.
#"
To verify that the destination endpoint is registered and online
1. Run the OnLAN Configure 323 configuration software.
2. Open the Zone Definition Table in the Gatekeeper Setup. Verify that the endpoint
appears in the table and its status is "online."
3. If the endpoint is not online, verify that the default Gatekeeper is defined for the
endpoint and that the endpoint is not using an existing alias or phone number.
4. Close the Zone Definition Table and re-register the endpoint with the Gatekeeper. This
procedure varies depending on the type of endpoint.
5. Open the Zone Definition Table. Verify the endpoint appears in the table and is online.
