Figure 36 - WAN Port Settings screen for a V.35 port

The WAN Port Settings defines parameters for the V.35 WAN port.
Port Number – displays the number of the port you are configuring. This is a read-only
field.
Enabled – allows you to disable and enable this port. If you disable this port, you will not
be able to make or receive calls through the Gateway. This port is enabled by default.
DCE/DTE – displays whether the WAN module is a DCE or a DTE module. This is a read-
only field.
Terminal Adapter Type – allows you to set the type and manufacture of the device
connected to this port. This parameter is only relevant when you select V.25bis from the
Dialing STD list or when you want to define a Dedicated connection. The Terminal Adapter
Type list includes a number of terminal adapter brands, an "sw_other" and a "Dedicated"
option.
If the connection device you have connected to this V.35 port does not appear in the list, or
for some reason the port is not functioning properly, select sw_other.
When the connection unit is an IMUX and you set the Terminal Adapter Type to
"sw_other," the bit rate of the call is usually determined by the IMUX's current call profile.
The bit rate of the call will not be determined by the IMUX current call profile but by the
Gateway service dialed, if the following conditions apply:
5-36
