Layer 1 Line Hunting – this is a means of testing the line to find out whether or not the
line is active. When Layer 1 Line Hunting is selected, the Gateway will not hunt BRI lines
whose layer 1 is not activated.
In European networks, layer 1 is usually only activated during a call. In such a system,
Layer 1Line Hunting is not effective and should not be enabled. However, when the
Gateway BRI port is connected to a PBX, for some PBX, layer 1 is activated. Layer 1 Line
Hunting is disabled by default.
Static TEI – in European or other ETSI point-to-point signaling configurations, you can
configure a static TEI (Terminal Equipment Identifier). Static TEI configuration is
supported by Gateway version 1.3.1.26 and higher that have ISDN BRI module version 3.79
and higher.
