Overview
Integrating the L2W-323 Gateway into Your
Network
The following section gives you examples of how to integrate the L2W-323 Gateway into
your network, depending on the intended application. The L2W-323 Gateway has two main
applications in H.323 networks: multimedia conferencing and Voice over IP.
Multimedia Conferencing Application
The L2W-323 Gateway allows H.323 endpoints on the IP-based LAN to communicate with
an H.320 terminal, an ISDN or a regular phone on a circuit-switched public network,
without having to connect directly to these networks as illustrated by the following figure:

The L2W-323 Gateway allows all your company's LAN terminals to perform
videoconferences without connecting every desktop to an ISDN line. By reducing the total
number of ISDN lines deployed on your network you can significantly save on ISDN
charges.
